Why I love Anime

Bear with me for just a few more days. I promise to eventually rewrite all these topics with better research so stick with me while I go through the motions.

Over the last 20 years or so, Japanese Animated shows or anime, have taken the world by storm. Shonen series like Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto and even thrillers like Death Note have achieved cult status.

Many anime provide the best of animation and storytelling. Japanese pop in anime have achieved legendary status.

I have been following anime for over 20 years, since I was a little kid. I used to look forward to those daily episodes of Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z every night. Those defined my childhood.

Japanese manga and anime are among the best in the medium and each new mangakka provides new stories with their own unique style of drawing and storytelling.

Since it is animation, they are able to push the limits of what characters do, sometimes to ridiculous levels. This creates even greater avenues for pushing the limits of storytelling.

Anime is now a global phenomenon even if the anime industry is going through a crisis of sorts. But it continues to churn out new content and captivates audiences worldwide.

My love for anime stems from the level of freedom and the pride taken by the industry people in their work. I wish India forms its own anime industry. Our culture has such a rich content library and so many fascinating stories to tell.

Here is to a lifetime more of anime.
