Premier League is now in big screens

The English Premier League (EPL) is the most popular football leagues in the world. Clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea have huge followings across the world.

In India, the EPL generates a lot of conversation and fan parks are popular in various cities. But now Indian fans will get to watch their favorite players on the big screen.

PVR-Inox has teamed up with Star Sports to bring EPL to theatres run by them in India.

As mentioned in the above tweet, “#PVRINOX has teamed up with #StarSports to bring live Premier League matches to theatres across India. For first time ever, football fans can experience the thrill of watching their favorite team like Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea etc on the big screen.”

This will be for select screenings and matches which makes sense. I highly doubt anyone would want to watch Ipswich Town take on Bournemouth in India.

However, this option seems like an interesting outing for fans who want to watch the big teams clashing against each other. After all, the cinema experience is unparalleled.

Would it be better than fan parks? It depends on the viewer. For those who want to watch the action on a wide screen in a quieter setup while munching their popcorn, this seems ideal.

For those who seek the total fan experience, invite friends over or visit your local sports bar or fan park.

It is always good to see when leagues take the fans seriously, rather than just view them as cash cows. Even though they are going to be making money from this.

I will now get to watch Manchester United play like amateurs at the nearest PVR, munching on overpriced (but delicious) popcorn.
